Assistant Professor of Specialty Dental Medicine

Lincoln Memorial University–College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Specialty Dental Medicine. This position plays a key role in specialty clinical instruction, patient care delivery, and daily operations within the dental school clinic.
The successful candidate will provide expertise in a dental specialty area (including, but not limited to, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, or endodontics), support student clinical education, assist with faculty instruction, and help ensure compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards. This role serves as an important resource for both students and clinical faculty in maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Provide specialty clinical expertise in the dental school clinic
Support hands-on instruction and supervision of dental students
Assist faculty in clinical education and assessment
Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Support efficient clinic operations and patient services
Serve as a clinical resource for students and faculty
Required Qualifications
DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree
Specialty training or advanced clinical experience
Minimum of three years of clinical experience preferred
Strong knowledge of specialty dental procedures, instrumentation, and materials
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic dental clinic setting
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (e.g., AxiUm)
BLS certification and knowledge of emergency response protocols
Experience mentoring or training dental students or staff
